Thaddeus Powers Ceramic Art
I present to you just a taste of the artwork by one of my two best friends from high school, Thaddeus Powers! Thad is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, one of the greatest fathers, and a knockout ceramic artist. Made famous by his tea pots, his mugs and vases have also garnered him attention. His studio, named the Potting Shed at the shirt factory, is located in Glens Falls, NY. An updated site is on it's way soon!!! Stay tuned!

Feeling a bit uncomfortable!
I can't begin to tell you how happy I am the weekend is finally here! The weekdays feel uncomfortable to me. It's the kind of uncomfortable you feel when you are wearing a wool sweater in 60 degree weather. First you itch... then you sweat. But I am better now... today is Friday. Today, at 6 p.m. my wonderful wife will walk through the door with a smile that reaches from the Pacific to the Atlantic and say in the sweetest voice imaginable what I have waited to hear all week; "JACOB!" That simple call of her voice alone melts my heart and calms my soul. At that moment, I know that everything is going to be ok.

Christmas is coming !!!
Today is "PUT UP THE TREE" day and I couldn't be happier. It's the first time of the year I get to watch movies like National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, Elf, Home Alone, The Grinch, and other classics. It means the start of Peppermint Mochas from Starbucks and telling my wife the same childhood stories over and over that she has heard every year since we have started dating. It means time with family and time away from work. It means snow, like the feathery white stuff on top of our cars this morning.

Giving Back
This week the school I teach in collected cans and boxes of food for the poor. This awesome can ended up in my box and brought me right back to my childhood. I had to take a picture of it on my macbook at school and share it with you.

Now, if I could only find a bottle of Voltron vitamins, I would be all set!

Mini Vaca
This past weekend Diana and I made a trip to Upstate, NY to visit with friends and family as well as take a mini vacation from the hustle and bustle of life. Our trip to the Sagamore in Bolton Landing, NY included a tasty dinner, a massage for Diana and a nights sleep that didn't include an alarm for me (even though I still woke up around 5 a.m).
Here are a few images I took at while Diana slept the morning away. I was hoping for some sort of mild temperature to take pictures of the grounds but the weather wasn't cooperating. The morning was FRIGID cold and the wind was strong enough to blow you off your feet.

Room service brought tasty food to our doorstep.

The panorama from the dock at the Sagamore.

I cherish my time with Diana and I look forward to our next vacation together.

2nd Shooting @ Crisan and Michael's Wedding for Jerome Braga / Studio 1923
A while back I had the opportunity to shoot with Jerome Braga of Studio 1923 in Slate Hill, NY at the Catlin Gardens for Crisan and Michael. The gardens behind the venue where Crisan and Michael were married were FILLED TO THE MAX with every type of flower, plant and statue imaginable!!! There were archways, bridges, paths, a pond, and a brook. Challenging to shoot but very pretty to look at.

Thank you again Jerome for having me shoot with you!

2nd Shooting @ Claudia & Scott's Wedding for Jerome Braga / Studio 1923
I would like to present to you Claudia and Scott! Their storybook wedding was held at the historic Immaculate Conception Basilica in Waterbury with an event-filled reception at the Villa Rosa.

Claudia and Scott had a Mariachi Band come to play during the dinner hour

Thank you to Jerome Braga for having me shoot with him once again. Also, a plug needs to be given to SIXPENCE FOR YOUR SHOES who are the best wedding coordinators in CT.

The Blaze: Halloween is HERE!
Last night, Diana, and I went to The Blaze in Croton-on-the- Hudson with a few friends. The frigid temperature wasn't enough to stop us from seeing the 6010 carved pumpkins that adorn the Van Cortland Manor in Westchester County. Next year, I will be going back with the D3 and it's amazing ISO.
Photographer note: Most of these shots were taken between 1600 and Hi1 at 1.8 and 1/60th of a second.
Happy Halloween!!!

Autumn Hike: Slideshow
Today Diana and I went hiking with her awesome friend from work at a local spot we climb every other week or so. It's close, fairly quick (30 if running, 50 if walking with a rest at the top).
There are so many deep thoughts that run through my mind when I hike that I would love to blog and truly open up... but I think I am going to let the pictures and the music tell the story for me. I know the pictures go slowly, but that's the point.
